1) JG54 is an online IL2 Virtual Squadron, newly formed from elements of numerous other JG54 related disbanded as individual squads and decided to come together. JG54 is hence reformed (based loosely on 10 years of tradition and success of II/JG54, established by Baron back in the year 2000) and now incorporating all Gruppen and Staffel tags of the famed Jagdgeschwader into its structure as outlined below.
* I/JG54:- 1 Staffel, 2 Staffel, 3 Staffel
* II/JG54:- 4 Staffel, 5 Staffel, 6 Staffel
* III/JG54:- 7 Staffel, 8 Staffel, 9 Staffel
* Erg/JG54:- Training and New Recruits
2) We are generally a European based group but now accept applicants from further a field and have dedicated Staffels for a number of languages to facilitate predominantly NON- Englishspeakers.However, a little understanding of the English language would be helpful for inter Staffel Communications We also have Staffels for different regions of the world for convenience to those members/applicants from outside the European Time Zones. At this stage of our development, the Dedicated Language/Region Staffels are held in reserve and will be formed when membership levels warrant the forming of these Staffels.
3) Applicants must be 16yrs or older to apply. We fly full real settings but do certainly accommodate and train those who have difficulty flying under these conditions. Our preferred mod pack for IL2 1946 is currently ULTR@PACK 3..... (Mod versions are updated on a regular basis and it is up to each individual member to acquaint themselves with these updates in order that they can and will be compatible with the rest of the group)
4) All new members must apply through the recruitment process and will serve a 2 month probationary period prior to becoming a full member of JG54. Full membership status will be judged on attendance at flying events, level of activeness in forums/webpage, compatibility to existing members, etc. Full membership will be declined if 3 or more existing members reject proposals for full membership of an applicant. Valid reasons for any rejection vote must be given. If rejection vote is deemed unreasonable by existing members in separate discussion, then that vote will be deemed null and void. New applicants must bear the TAG – Erg./JG54_Name whilst flying online with the squads through Hyperlobby or any other online competition or meeting for identification purposes.
5) All JG54 pilots are prohibited from holding membership within another flight simulation squadron. To prevent conflicts of interest and ensure maximum attendance possible by all members .
6) Official Flight meeting dates - on Hyperlobby on Tuesdays and Fridays at 21h00 CET (20:00GMT or 19:00 GMT in summer time)or other dates as agreed. Pilots unable to attend on any dates are required, out of courtesy, to notify the rest of the squad members via the forums. Unless notification is given to other members, failure to remain active for a period of 2 months or more, will result in that member’s downgrade from a Full Member and they will then be placed in the In-active pilots roster for a period of 1 year, after which time the said member will be deleted from our lists and will need to re-apply should they wish to return. In order to maintain membership a pilot must fly regularly in online events whether casual or competition. Except for under exceptional circumstances, once every 2 weeks is sufficient attendance to be deemed regular.
7) All new recruits will hold the rank of Flieger until full membership status is obtained. Promotion rank after this to be decided by all existing members in separate vote after nomination. Reasons for promotion nominations must be provided. Majority vote is the deciding factor for promotions. Only Full members can cast a vote. In-active member waive their right to vote due to inactivity. Rank is only defined here as a need to keep a flying structure in the group and does not in any way override the concept that ''all major decisions about JG54 are made by majority vote by all Full members''. No Full Member, is above another, under any circumstances.
8) All members are to bear their assigned JG54 TAG names and plane number during online flying evenings and competitions for the group. Members are expected to be respectful and courteous to other members, other online pilots and squads, at all times, and where possible promote good standards as a JG54 member.
